Coming and Going

Reader Éric Angelini points out that the regular continued fraction of \displaystyle (5 + \sqrt{35})/10 is an infinite palindrome in two ways:

  • in numbers: 1, 10, 1, 10, 1, 10, …
  • in English!: ONE, TEN, ONE, TEN, ONE, TEN, …

A simpler specimen: 9 9 9 9 … is NINE NINE NINE NINE …

(Thanks, Éric.)
