The Whispering Gallery
This has been in my notes forever, but I haven’t confirmed it.
Reportedly there’s an acoustical quirk in the vaulted gallery outside the Oyster Bar on the lower level of Grand Central Station. If you and a friend stand in opposite corners, as if being punished, you can carry on a whispered conversation that others can’t hear.
